ATLANTA- The downtown location of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks in downtown Atlanta has no future plans to reopen, according to it’s owner Derrick Hayes Sr.
Hayes made the public announcement via social media over this past weekend. According to Hayes, the recent water crisis in downtown Atlanta, left residents without water and forced many local businesses to close for several days which had a huge impact in his business.
Hayes orginally began his business journey with Big Dave’s Cheesesteakes location in a gas station in Dunwoody. Since then, he has several locations now in Jonesboro, Forest Park, Doraville, Lawernceville and also inside the Mercedes-Benz stadium.
It was reported that the owner officially opened up his first location outside of metro Atlanta in May in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It also appears that construction is underway on a new location in South Carolina.
Additionally, Hayes announced plans earlier this year to open 10 locations in Central Florida.
